Military Families

Beaufort County School District is proud to be a Military Purple Star District.  The Purple Star School program is designed to help schools respond to the educational and social-emotional challenges military-connected children face during their transition to a new school. It is our goal to support our military families and military children by removing all barriers that will inhibit their success academically, socially, and emotionally and keep them on track to be college and workforce ready.

Don't hesitate to reach out to our Military School Liaison or any one of our two Military Family Life Counselors located at Broad River and Coosa elementary schools.

Visit the MCES website to register for MCEC Parent Workshops. Webinars are presented live usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Noon EST. Participants must register in advance. Sign up for SchoolQuest - MCEC solutions to help you and your students manage academic life.

Military Family Life Counselors

The Department of Defense authorized the funding for several full-time Military Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) to serve the Beaufort County School District. They are located at Broad River Elementary and Coosa Elementary

School MFLCs offer short-term non-medical counseling services to military connected children, parents, faculty, and staff. The MFLC counselors are at the schools to help and are available to talk to military students, facilitate group activities, outreach to parents and to process interactions and concerns. Reach out to our counselors for more information.
